Ascot Ladies’ Day was celebrated in style by around 60 ladies who attended a special race day at Time Out Sports Bar in San Javier on 21 June. Everyone entered into the Ascot spirit by sporting beautiful outfits and hats to help raise funds for MABS Cancer Support Group in Murcia.
There was a six race competition which was won and shared by John, Bernie and Liz. Joan Hammond won the competition for the best hat and Rita Batchelor was the overall winner of the best hat and outfit competition. A total of 221€ was raised for MABS Murcia; a raffle was held with the top prize of a meal for two and 10€ worth of drinks at Time Out at the next performance of The Red Tops. MABS Fundraiser, Janet Bell, remarked: “Gary and Sue of Time Out are great supporters of MABS, running events throughout the year to raise funds for us and we’re very grateful to them. Today was a fun day out and everyone has really enjoyed themselves.”
